Veg Course

When does the Veg Course happen?

he Veg Course runs every year from the first Sunday in March until the end of October, with three mentors leading the sessions and nine spaces. Each person has a space on the communal plot that is the width of the plot, divided by a path up the middle. In these beds, we all grow the same vegetables, the usual allotment stalwarts, along with a few herbs and an occasional vegetable that is new to some of the group.

What is covered during the course?

During the course we cover:

  • Seed sowing in as many different ways as we can, all of which takes place in our communal polytunnel
  • Transplanting and growing
  • Harvesting
  • Making compost and liquid feeds
  • Watering
  • Plot maintenance
  • Useful tools

If you miss a session we have a weekly newsletter, available to anyone, that will let you know what we covered. See the newsletters here. There is a button on each newsletter for subscribing if you are interested.
