2021 Instructions
It is time to catch up on all the jobs mentioned in the May 19 post, not only planting but also preparing hoops and netting.
All of our crops in modules, unless they are particularly small, will fare better in the ground with space to grow. Now is the time to plant out celeriac, squash and courgettes, and brassicas grown in pots. You will have some spares so please let me have them rather than putting them all in.
Let's see how big the outdoor tomatoes are, perhaps leaving them for another week or so.
Some sweetcorn might not have survived the cold wet weather but Jan has sown more seeds which may be ready for next week.
I have sown some spare runner and French beans but I think that the ones sown a couple of weeks ago are beginning to show. We have replacements if needed.
Brett and Jenni prepared a comfrey tea barrel last week so it would be useful for us all to see and smell! I hope to take some photos on Sunday for the article I am writing for the Journal.
